The first key to enjoying a trip to Miami Beach is to know when to go to avoid the crowds. Going on when its crowded makes it hard to drive, hard to get restaurant reservations, and next to impossible to get a place to stay. Unless the traveler is especially interested in the event, avoid early February during the Miami Boat show, March brings Spring break the Winter Music Conference. May brings the Miami International Film Festival and Memorial Day weekend. December brings the Art Basel.
