So you’ve made the trip down to Miami and are ready for some sun and partying. Well there is plenty of both, as you are sure to have a fantastic time (as long as you don’t mind crowds). Regardless of the time of year you visit, Miami’s south Beach is always hopping, and there is always something to do.
Before you arrive, it is best to book your hotel in advance. There are dozens of different hotels, all facing the beach and ocean. These hotels are rather pricey and are generally going to cost a few hundred dollars (or more) each and every night). You can find hotels in the middle of South Beach that are less expensive but of lesser quality. High end hotels in downtown Miami are of an excellent value, but are a 20 minute drive form the beach. In addition the cab drive alone is going to cost around $30 each way. So keep in mind all this information when booking a hotel.
There are night clubs abound in South Beach. Regardless of the kind of music or drinks you prefer, there is something for you. The drinks are more expensive than in the rest of Miami (which all together isn’t the cheapest city to visit), and there is usually a cover for the bars at night, but you are sure to have a blast.
Check out Lincoln Road. This is one of the main strips and ends right on South Beach. This has a wide variety of shops, restaurants and clubs. Many of the restaurants have seating in the middle of the road (there are non cars allowed through this section of town). Some of the best watering holes are available here, and these small hole in the wall balls also have the best deals.
